GIANFRANCO FERRE

Gianfranco Ferré, who passed away in June of 2007, was a fashion designer and architecture graduate who earned the moniker "the architect of fashion" for his well-sculpted, original designs and academic background. He began his fashion career as an accessory and raincoat designer in the 1970s, before launching his own collections for men and women-- showing his first couture collection in Rome in 1986. Gianfranco also served as Stylistic Director for Dior from 1989 to Spring 1997. Gianfranco Ferre fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Mark Buxton, Karine Dubreuil, Pierre Bourdon, Alexandra Jouet, Francis Kurkdjian, Maurice Roucel, Jean-Charles Niel and Michele Saramito.
