Infused by childhood memories of Tunisia, Loris Azzaro was “inhabited by the Mediterranean… the sun, sand and the blue color”—the opera, the cakes, the odors, the dresses. It guided his designs and the sea remained a creative force and passion in his life. His adoration of love and maritime life created the atmosphere for his scents—spices, colors, flowers, perfumes. For Azzaro, the azure sky was his inspiration. In 1975, Azzaro created his signature scent for women, Couture. Lovely fragrances like Chrome, Vetiver, Onyx and Eau Bella followed and Loris Azzaro soon became known for his fragrance as much as his high-fashion design.
